Gomal University organized its 9th annual convocation

The Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan has said that education is necessary for attaining the the best and respectable place in the society and in nation as well.

He expressed his views during his address on the 9th Convocation of Gomal University, Dera Ismail Khan. During his address he said that the knowledge is the main step for the peace and for the prosperity, adding that the society achieving the goals of prosperity, peace and development with the help of quality education and innovation.

 Sardar Mahtab said that the democracy has been strengthened in the country because of the movement of the lawyers against the ruler. He said that the movement of the lawyer has set the direction of the democracy in the country.

He also said that the time has come when all the institutions of the country share the common responsibility for the success and for the development of the country in unity along with the established self-governing values.

During his address he also added that societies are strengthened and promoted through the rule of law as well as the administration of justice. He advised the youth to play a helpful role in the development of the state. He said that violence, lack of control, depression and sense of dispossession were not the purpose of our coming generation however instead they require a favourable environment for their exceptional future.

He announced the endowment fund of Rs10 million for the tribal students who are studying in the university during his address on the convocation. The governor added that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had also free a handsome amount of almost one billion rupees for the Gomal University.

Moreover, he announced Rs 50,000 for the students of tribal areas who got gold medal in their respective field of education and the provision of five seats for tribal students in every department of the university. Approximately 150 gold medals and 25 PhD degrees were granted to the aspirants. The high ranking civil and the military officials, academicians, students and their parents attended this event.
