The Fulbright Program, a well-known American scholarship program for the competitive as well as the merit-based grants for the international educational exchange, is facing pragmatic threat because of the new budget allocation in United States.
The management of the program has submitted a budget according to which Fulbright Program will face a cut of 47 percent for the fiscal year 2018.

The budget cut will force the removal of a lot grants which will badly affect large number of countries including Pakistan.
Though, the program has suffered from budget cuts in the previous years from both parties, it has maintained a steady funding for many years.
As a reply, a petition has been started to bring back the funding of the program back to the level of $250m.
This plea has been started to secure the 71-year history of the program which has facilitated large number of international aspirants, teachers, scholars, professionals, scientists as well as the artists.

The earlier graduates have started this activism platform, which comprises of a sample letter along with a phone script to assist the supporters send their message to their Congressional representatives automatically.
