Rawalpindi, The Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) has got first position in All Pakistan University Radio Production Awards entitled ‘Gender-Based Violence News Report".
Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) Lahore conducted the event in cooperation with the USAID and Aurat Foundation. The news report focused the issue of ‘Domestic Violence’ and was broadcasted by the team of Campus Radio Station, Voice of Women (VoW) at the Department of Communication and Media Studies.
Special shield, certificates and cash prize were distributed among senior students along with their supervisor Miss Rouqia Khursheed (Assistance Producer). Munno Bhai was the chief guest on this occasion.
Fatima Jinnah Women University got this name in the tribute of the assistances made by "Madr-e-Millat" to the cause of women emancipation. It is housed in a building which was old presidency and it is through this University that our heritage has been beautifully interlinked with the education of women for next millennium.
The building has an architectural splendor. This gift to the nation, its daughters, and their families has been conceived and presented in an outstanding academic as well as architectural environment. As it stands, it is a symbol of the commitment of the nation to women's Education.
Three day outstanding contest is being organized at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) among the students of the varsity who have got first prize in each category in the contest which was organized in their respective region or cities. The program will be start from March 19 and will continue till March 21, 2013.
AIOU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Nazir Ahmed Sangi will chair the inaugural session on March 19 at 9am. in Begum Nusrat Bhutto Auditorium of the university.
University of the Punjab is going to conduct a three-day Book Fair from March 28 to 30, 2013.
Interested publishers/ book sellers and other representative of institutions can exhibited their stalls and can contact to the university management from March 14 to 20, 2013.
