After the introduction of online applications service, examination as well as papers marking under Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) competitive exams against various posts is going to be computerized soon.
Previously, the applicants were required to submit 4 to 5 pages applications along with the attested photo copies of documents, CNICs as well as photos, whereas now applicants can easily apply online without any major difficulties.
National Information Technology Board (NITB) has also started its functioning on the new project for the FPSC where CSS competitive exams will be checked with the help of computer which will result in more accuracy, reduce chances of mistakes and save time.
Presently NITB is working and offering its advisory services to FPSC on following subjects:
· Feasibility Report for computerization in the Commission
· Automation of Examination System
· Automation of Recruitment System
· Psychological test system using computer
· Special examination system utilizing computer
· Selection of computer hardware to exchange the FPSC computer
· Report on the improvement of automation
Though, few e-government projects are being delayed and National Information Technology Board will surrender millions of rupees till the end of the present financial year, after it failed to complete recruitment procedure in spite of a passage of almost two years.

These projects also involve the FPSC and automation of Prime Minister Secretariat. NITB is going to invest Rs 5.025 million in PM secretariat project.
NITB was informed as an attached department of the Ministry of Information Technology & Telecom Division through the merger of former Pakistan Computer Bureau (PCB) and Electronic Government Directorate (EGD) on August 11th, 2014.
But, 24 out of 60 posts are still lying vacant at the department; therefore it is not being run at full capacity.
Ministry officials claimed that vacancies were twice advertised however did not find the eligible qualified candidates.
