Lahore: Higher Education Commission of Pakistan as well as the University of the Punjab have decided to set up a China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) integrated study centre at the varsity to highlight the golden chance for the development of Pakistan via media and counter negative propaganda against the project.
In this regard, a meeting was organized on Tuesday, which was attended by former vice chancellor of National University of Science and Technology (NUST) Lt Gen (R) Muhammad Asghar, Vice Chancellor of Punjab University Prof Dr Zaffar Mueen Nasar, Incharge of Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) Savera Shami, Shabbir Sarwar, Amir Bajwa, Dr Zaffar Ahmed as well as others.

In the meeting, Lt General (R) Muhammad Asghar gave a detailed presentation on the CPEC and "One Belt One Road" ingenuity.
He added that there was a need to create awareness among the people regarding the gigantic project.
He further said that every section of the society as well as of the country was going to benefit from the CPEC.

While speaking on the event, the vice chancellor of Punjab University Dr Zaffar Mueen Nasar assured the partakers that the university will play its positive role in this respect.
He instructed the team of Punjab University to make a concrete proposal within one week so that the practical work could be started on the project as soon as possible.
