Islamabad, Brazilian Government has started scholarship program for Pakistani students who are getting education in colleges and want to engage in further higher studies. The students can apply for scholarship program which will cover tuition fee by the Brazilian Government. The last date to apply is June 28, 2013.
Not long ago, Pakistan and Brazilian Government has signed an agreement for Brazil’s thirty-year-old undergraduate (PEC-G) program. Over 3,000 students from different countries are already getting education under this program while only 2 students are from Pakistan.
In the 60 universities which are offering PEC-G program, the candidate can select any area of interest. Various institutes of developing countries are offering this program for the benefit of the students. The courses offered through the PEC-G are mostly in the field of medicine, engineering, business administration and international relations.
Applicant must have minimum age of 18 years (completed until January 31st, 2013) and maximum of 25 (at the moment of application), college degree with more than 60% marks and at least 60% marks of average in English and in the respective course and the applicant can cover traveling and living expenses during the stay in Brazil.
Candidates with excellent academic record in college can apply for this scholarship program, the Brazilian embassy in Pakistan said. It was further stated that the candidates are not required to command on Portuguese, the national language of Brazil. The selected candidates will have one year language program before starting university.
Candidates can send application forms at the Brazilian embassy in Islamabad up to June 28. The list of universities and details about requirements for candidates are available at the embassy’s website.
After completion of education, foreign students are expected to return Pakistan and serve in the respective field and for the development of Pakistan as well.
