Islamabad: On Tuesday, a five-member academic delegation of Yunnan Open University of China (YOUC) visited Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), and set a future road-map to build up the bilateral cooperation in order to give educational retort to China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Both these sides agreed to develop cooperative partnership to uphold the concept of CPEC by carrying out mutual ventures in various educational zones. They agreed for setting up Chinese and the Urdu learning centres at their respective education institutes.

The vice president of Yunnan University Prof. Luo JI, during his meeting along with the vice chancellor Prof Dr Shahid Siddiqui, showed keen interest in establishing Chinese Language and Culture Center at AIOU and starting joint academic programmes especially in the field of printing technology and teachers' training.
Dr Shahid Siddiqui said that the Allama Iqbal Open University can establish an Urdu learning centre in YOUC.

The proposal was answered positively by the Chinese, expecting that that it will facilitate the Chinese manpower to have better collaboration along with their Pakistani counterparts in executing the CPEC.
Both the two sides also agreed for exchange of aspirants and the faculty members to learn from each other.
Dr Shahid Siddiqui updated the visiting delegation regarding the rich potential and capacity of the university to push forward the idea of educational hallway supporting the CPEC.

He further highlighted the importance of cooperative partnership among the two educational institutes in the context of CPEC.
