Islamabad: The top leading institute of distance education in Pakistan has started working together along with the foreign educational institutes for the advancement of educational standards in Pakistan.
Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has started working along with the foreign educational institutes to promote open and distance learning, through the internet, to modernize the educational standards from primary level to the PhD level.

On Wednesday, the Vice chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), Dr Shahid Siddiqui, told a visiting delegation from the European Union (EU), that the varsity was already in contact along with the other international open universities, to develop a national policy on open and distance learning.
The delegation was led by Development Adviser of European Union (EU) Michele Rizzi, who visited the AIOU as a part of their on-going efforts to further develop social-economic partnership along with Pakistan, with specific regard to educational institutes.
