Islamabad: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has started the procedure of 'sending books' to seven lakh aspirants registered in the Matric to PhD level programmes, for the spring semester 2017.
The well-timed mailing of course books to the aspirants was a big challenge particularly along with the growing enrolment this year, though it was undertaken in association along with the Pakistan Post and the procedure was started on a fast-track basis to be completed in the given period of time, said AIOU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shahid Siddiqui.

The procedure of mailings books had been speed up in order to give enough time to the aspirants to submit their course-assignments.
In the first stage, a list of 20K aspirants registered enrolled in the Matric programme was received by the mailing department and the books are being posted to them, these aspirants will receive their books within 10 days.
Books accompanied by the allied material of FA and BA programmes will be dispatched next week. Efforts are being made that the entire mailing process is completed at the earliest, said the official of varsity.

The university has also introduced a computerized tracking system which has been introduced to facilitate its thousands of aspirants to check the mailing status of the books.
This latest computerized tracking system has been developed recently.
