AIOU announces student’s scholarships on securing 75 percent marks

Islamabad: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) on Wednesday announced that it will provide special scholarship to its registered students on obtaining 75 percent and above marks in their recent results.

Director Students Affairs Allama Iqbal Open University, Rana Tariq Javed said this scheme was an initiative to generate competition among the aspirants and to motivate the brilliant ones.

He further added that this scholarship programme had been launched in line along with the directions of Vice Chancellor of AIOU Prof Dr Shahid Siddiqui.

Students who wish to apply for the scholarship program can download application form from the link given on the official website of university and send it to the Director via related relevant department.

Earlier, the university announced 6^th March as the last date for admission in spring semester, 2017. The university had further announced that it will continue its policy of providing the financial assistance to the needy as well as deserving students, facilitating them to continue their further study.

Vice Chancellor of AIOU wanted to make sure that fee-payment should not be a difficulty in educational seeks.

Nobody should be left without education because of the financial issues, he added.

The scheme in which scholarships are being offered includes:

1.       Earn to learn scheme

2.       Outreach Scholarship Scheme

3.       Final Year Project Grant Scheme

4.       Scholarship for Communities

5.       Scholarship for Women

6.       Fee Installment Scheme and

7.       Alumni-Sponsored Scholarship

Deserving as well as needy aspirants who fell in these categories of scheme had been advised to contact the nearest regional campus of varsity for financial aid in accordance with the prescribed rules.

It is also important to mention here that university is also offering free education to disabled students as well as the prisoners.
