Lahore: The chief minister of Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif headed a meeting last week meeting in which the measures taken to promote education and the ongoing educational programmes for the students were discussed.
As per the press release, while addressing the meeting CM Punjab said that the destination of progress as well as development would be accomplished by providing the advanced education to the youngsters and the government of the Punjab had taken many important steps in this regard.

He furthermore added that, the target of 100% school enrolment will be achieved before next year (2018).
CM further said that merit and transparency had been put up in Punjab in almost every field and 220,000 teachers had been hired completely on merit and this year 80,000 more teachers will be hired purely on merit basis.
Shahbaz also said that the attendance of teachers had increased because of the steps taken by the government. He added that the basic facilities in education institutes had been provided in 52,000 schools by providing Rs 40 billion.
He said that almost Rs 16 billion had been spent on the reconstruction of destroyed school buildings and 36,000 new classrooms are being established by spending billions of rupees.

CM added that school labs had been made in 6,000 schools. Hundreds of thousands of laptops had been presented the aspirants in a transparent way and more laptops will be distributed among the students during the current session, he added.
