712 degrees awarded to students at first session of GCU convocation 2016

The first phase of the 14th Convocation of Government College University (GCU) was organized recently in which 664 MPhil or MS as well as 48 PhD degrees were granted to the aspirants along with the 7 co-curricular medals, 24 out of total 48 PhD degrees were granted to the female candidates. The convocation was held in the three phases. One was last week which was chaired by the Governor of Punjab Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana.

While conversing on the event, Punjab Governor Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwanasaid that, women use their education for the development of the country as well as for the welfare of its common people.

After that Governor and VC presented Gold Medal to Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for Best Urdu Declamation Speaker to Khagan Arshad, Prof G.D. Sondhi presented gold medal to Syed Zohaib Zaffar Ali Shah for over all exceptional performance, Mohammad Idrees presented gold medal to Adnan Farooq for Best Debater, Daud Ilyas Medal presented Gold Medal to Muhammad Kafeel Ashraf for brilliant intermediate student, Dr Saida Karamat Medal presented the medal to Aneega Tahir for Best Woman Graduate, Waleed Iqbal presented Medal to Awais Ahmad Malik for Best English Parliamentary Speaker whereas Thespian Medal presented Gold Medal to Yousra Anwar for the outstanding performance in Dramatics.
