Rawalpindi: Punjab Education Department has ordered the authorities to extend the contracts of approximately 25000 teachers from Punjab including Rawalpindi district for one year more.
As per the media reports the contract of just those teachers is being extended presently, whose contract is expiring on June 30th, 2017 (today).

In this regard a notification has also been issued.
This issued notice would be considered valid in the 36 districts of Punjab.
This step has been taken in advance as the contract of the teachers expired before Eid-ul-Fitr, and if their contract is not renewed then they would not be paid their salaries.

The notification furthermore states that if any teacher is not paid salary on-time and before Eid-ul-Fitr then the strict action will be taken now against the person responsible for this.
