Virtual Institute of Pakistan is affiliated with Skill Development Council, Lahore which has been established as an Employer’s led organization being important component of National Vocational Training Project.

‘VIP’ has been set up with the main objectives to enhance participation of employers of private sector and public sector in skill training activities and create a training culture in the industry to establish productive links between industry and training providers, to meet the training needs of the identified skilled and to build a competent, flexible and demand driven workforce so that it can face the challenges of competitiveness in local and global market. The valued concept of public and private partnership in education and vocational / technical training is the only solution to meet the most critical challenges of Human Resource Development.

Virtual Institute of Pakistan has been established to provide education opportunity to students living in far-flung areas of Pakistan and for those experienced professionals who are unable to attend classes because of their busy schedule. The students who cannot afford to pay the fees as regular on-campus students, can also be benefited from this unique “Virtual Learning Program”. Virtual Learning Program provides extremely affordable education to aspiring students all over the country. This unique program enables students to finish their courses at their own pace and in their own time. VIP provides education through highly interactive website, email and snail mail. The students of VIP would be provided with their own ‘userid’ and ‘password’ enabling them to access the huge resource of information relevant to their courses. The students would be required to finish their assignments and tasks and submit it to VIP through website, email or snail mail. These assignments will be assessed by foreign qualified and Ph.D qualified and experienced faculty members.
