What is philosophy why should we study it / why it is important?

• The BS Philosophy option is intended for students who wish to study philosophy as part of a multiple major program with other B.S. degree programs, especially those connected to the life sciences, the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or technology.
• These highly critical, analytical, and argumentative skills that are developed often lead students to pursue legal studies, MBA programs, or seminaries.

Specializations or Majors

There are a number of disciplines in the BS philosophy program. Students can specialize in philosophy subjects. You can do MS in philosophy and after the Ph.D. in philosophy.

Philosophy offers courses in major areas including Epistemology, metaphysics, ethics, history of philosophy, political and social philosophy, philosophy of language, philosophy of mind, philosophy of science, logic, philosophy of biology, philosophy of mathematics, and philosophy of art. 

In addition to learning how to form and articulate their own beliefs, students will explore earlier approaches to some of philosophy's most important themes in the major philosophy. 

Duration/credit hours 

BS philosophy is a four year program. It consists of 8 semesters. There are 120 credit hours required for the Philosophy bachelor's degree.

• Approximately 40-50 thousand per semester package

Private universities

• 75k- 90k per semester or even more than that. (Total 5-8 lac for a whole degree)\

• Total aggregate formula

          Matric: 20 percent marks

          Intermediate: 80 percent marks

          (Major in FA philosophy): 30 marks

          Hafiz e Quran: 20 marks

          Diploma/Job experience: 10 marks

Private universities:  50 percent marks required for admission

          Entry test: 50 percent required
