It is a famous proverb which means that anybody who has a power is always right.
In the current fast age of modernization and technology, the competition to gain power is increasing rapidly to a greater extent. Anybody can feel pleased upon having any kind of power, whether it is the power of money, social status or the governing right over other people.
Power has always gained importance and value in the past and it will be held important in the future too as it is the power only which provides a sense of security and satisfaction to a person.
You may have seen various people around you, who according to you are absolutely wrong in their different actions, but they prove themselves to be right and true. It’s only because of the power they have with them.
There is no need to go far, have a look around your own self. You can easily gather the reason for a person’s decline or rise. It’s only the matter of might or power a person has. For instance, United States of America, (USA).
It was strongly condemned by the countries all over the world, for attacks on Afghanistan and Iraq, but it still went against the legal orders of UNO. The purpose of this organization died, but America is still practicing its own will. Nobody is there to stop it from the bloodshed being carried out for oil. Even the countries which were opposing these attacks are allied for this destruction. What it concludes? It says that might is always right.
Pakistan is the first Islamic state having an atomic power and there is a famous saying that a child eats the sweetest toffee at the end of all other toffees. Considering this, one can gather that, as Afghanistan and Iraq have been oppressed, Pakistan is also not out of the danger as it is now constantly being impeached for terrorism and the lodging in of Al-Qaida. Who is there to argue this accusation? Nobody is willing to criticize in a strong and worthy manner because of the fright of the super power. As the minds believe that, might is always right.
Consider the same scenario on a smaller level. Our great leaders, however corrupted they are, have never been questioned. Our ex-finance minister and then prime minister, Mr. Shaukat Aziz embezzled billions of rupees under the name of reforms which were piteous to see, the way they were carried out. Nobody inquired him about all this, when he was in the power and proper action could have taken against him. He wasn’t held accountable even once for the loss he had rendered to the country. This was all because the people were occupied by “Might Is Always Right.” Now when his reign is over and he has left the country, records have opened against him, which is rather useless.
If we have a look in our society, a gambler or a smuggler has a more worth and value than a man earning through fair means, just because of the power which heaps of money has given him. Although good moral values are nice and sweet to hear of, but the pain and misery of hunger is really far away from this sweetness. Good values cannot reduce the hunger of a dieing child but the might of status and money can do it in a fraction of a moment.
Considering the above mentioned factors, one can easily gather that the power and might have crucial importance in the current situation of the world. Although the morality has not come to a decline, but might holds more importance in this cruel world to survive for our own selves. So MIGHT IS ALWAYS RIGHT.
