PhD Scholarship - SM Zafar Fellowship in Physics

The SM Zafar Fellowship was established by SM Zafar, a distinguished Old Ravian, to support an outstanding female PhD scholar in the field of Physics at Government College University (GCU) Lahore.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria:

• Candidates will be selected based on merit by the SM Zafar/Selection Committee, which will consider recommendations from the relevant Academic Department.
• Eligibility:
  • Female applicants aged no more than 28 years.
  • Candidates must meet the requirements to pursue a PhD degree at GCU Lahore as per the university's rules and regulations.

Scholarship Terms and Conditions:

• Duration:
  The fellowship will be awarded for 3 years on a full-time basis and is extendable for up to one additional academic year in special circumstances, based on the Fellowship Committee's recommendation.

• Frequency:
  The fellowship is offered once every four years to a female applicant pursuing PhD research at GCU Lahore on a full-time basis.

• Coverage:

  • The fellowship covers tuition fees for GCU Lahore.
  • It also covers incidental research expenses.

• The completed application form must be submitted to the Chairperson, Department of Physics by 14-02-2025.
