Punjab University Lahore MA/MSc Admission Guide Question Answers



When does the university start registration for private MA or MSc students?
 
The registration process starts in November and ends in the start of Feburary.
 
How much registration fee I have to pay?
 
With Single Fee:  3075/- Rs
With Late Fee: 4075/- Rs
With Double Fee: 6150/- Rs
 
From where can i get registration form?
 
Registration forms are usually available in selected branches of Habib Bank Limited and Punjab University Information Cell near IER bus stop Quaid-e-Azam Campus by paying of Rs. 15 / -.
 
What is registration Card?
 
After sending the complete registration form to Registration Branch, university issues Registration Card. Duration for issuance of Registration Card is tentatively 45 days after receipt of form.

Yes.
 
What is the registration criterion?
 
Students who have passed bachelors or equivalent examination can apply for MA/MSc private examinations or students who have passed supplementary examination needed to attach the original failure certificate of annual examination with registration form.
 
Is there any difference between registration and admission process?
 
Yes, registration process for private candidates usually starts in January; almost one year before the exam’s commencement and admissions usually starts in September after getting the registration. Before getting admission you have to register yourself.
 
Which documents are required for registration?
 
Copy of Registration Card.
Copy of B.A./B.Sc. Result Card/Degree.
Copy of M.A./M.Sc. Part-I/ II, Result Card (if already appeared).
N.O.C. / Migration Certificate (if required)
Copy of National Identification Card.
The original Bank Challan of Rs. 2875 / -
 
Should I attest the registration form?
 
Yes, the candidates have to fill his / her form himself / herself and get it attested from a gazetted officer.
 
Can I send the registration form by post?
 
Yes, Registration forms can only be received by hand or by post individually.
 
Can I download the admission form?
 
Yes
 
When does the university starts admissions for private MA/MSc students?
 
Admission process for MA/MSc private students usually starts in September or October while in December this process ends.
 
How much admission fee I have to pay?
 
Candidates appearing in MA private exams, have to pay Single Fee of Rs. 5,180/- Rs while MSc students have to submit single fee of Rs. 6,050/- Rs.
 
What is the deadline for submission of application form?
 
The admission process ends in March or April every year.
 
Is there any document require to attach with admission form?
 
Yes, Candidates are required to attach the following documents along with the admission form.
 
Copy of Registration Card.
Copy of B.A./B.Sc. Result Card/Degree.
Copy of M.A./M.Sc. Part-I/ II, Result Card (if already appeared).
N.O.C. / Migration Certificate (if required)
Copy of National Identification Card.
Applicant needed to paste three latest identical passport size Photographs, duly attested, (with sky blue background) at the specified places of the admission form (Name and Father's Name must be mentioned on the back side of photographs).

Applicant needed to paste three latest identical passport size Photographs, duly attested, (with sky blue background) at the specified places of the admission form (Name and Father's Name must be mentioned on the back side of photographs).
Candidates have to deposit the required amount of fee in any Branch of Habib Bank Limited. In case of any deficiency in the fee the form will not be entertained.
Admission Form will be accepted according to the schedule notified by the University for each Examination.
The Admission form along with original fee payment challan must reach the Punjab University office within due date otherwise the form will be rejected.
The candidate who has passed bachelors or equivalent education from some other University/Board should submit the original migration certificate along with photocopies of other certificates.
The candidate who is residing outside the territorial jurisdiction of the Punjab University should submit N.O.C. of the University in whose territorial jurisdiction he/she is residing.
Incomplete forms shall be rejected and returned directly.
 
Should I submit NOC certificate?
 
Yes, the candidate residing outside the territorial jurisdiction of the Punjab University should submit N.O.C. of the University in whose territorial jurisdiction he/she is residing.

Masters in Mathematics can only be done if the candidates had double MATH (A & B) in Bachelors.
 
When does the university issue MA/MSc date sheet for private candidates?
 
PU generally announces its MA/MSc annual examination date sheets a month before the exams commencement, usually in May/June.
 
When does the university start MA/MSc final exams?
 
The Annual examinations of private MA/MSc under Punjab University held in the month of July every year.
