A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is an undergraduate degree program consists of three semesters which prepares students for work as a teacher in schools, and now it is an additional work must be done in order to be fully qualified to teach.
When does the university start admission process for B.Ed students?
Allama Iqbal Open University Islamabad starts Spring Semester Admissions for B.Ed programs in the month of January and this process ends in February/March every year.
What is the duration of B.Ed course?
AIOU’s B.Ed program is consists of three semesters.
Can I download the B.Ed admission form?
Admission form and prospectus can also be obtained by paying Rs. 300 from the sale point at main campus of University and Coordinating Offices throughout the country or at the university website.
Where can I submit admission form?
Applicants have to submit admission forms accompanied by bank challan with fee at banks throughout the country selected by the Allama Iqbal Open University. The form and fee can be submitted in Habib Bank Limited, First Women Bank, Bank Alfalah, Allied Bank, National Bank of Pakistan and MCB (Muslim Commercial Bank).
This admission form can be sent along with prescribed fee (in the shape of Bank Draft) at this address: Director (Admissions & Mailing), Block No.4, Allama Iqbal Open University, Sector H-8, Islamabad.
Can I submit fee in shape of bank draft or pay order?
No, AIOU will not accept fee in shape of bank draft or pay order.
What are main categories of B.Ed program?
The university offers B.Ed. admissions in two programs i.e. B.Ed Arabic and B.Ed. Arts.
How much admission fee I have to pay?
The Fee structure for both programs B.Ed in Arts and B.Ed in Arabic is same. Fee structure is:
For Arabic : Half Credit Course - Rs 1610, Full Credit Course Workshop - Rs 2350, First Semester Fee - Rs. 5570
For Arts : Half Credit Course - Rs 815, Full Credit Course Workshop - Rs 2350, First Semester Fee - Rs. 5790
Admission forms can be submitted even after the last date with the payment of Rs. 200 as late fee for the admission in B.Ed Program.
Fee structure for others semesters would be according to per semester course selection.
What is the deadline for submission of application form?
The admission process ends in February or March and after the due date university does not accept the admission form and fee.
What is the qualification requirement for B.Ed Arabic program?
A candidate must have minimum qualification of BA 2nd division with Arabic OR BA 2nd division with (Faazil Arabic).

Is there any instruction that I should follow?
Candidates have to prepare the course through books provided by the university.
The students are required to prepare and submit two written assignments for a half credit course and four assignments for a full credit course, within the given time. Tutorial support is provided at the nearest possible places.
There is one course workshop for B.Ed program.
There are six half-credit courses, two full credit courses and a workshop of full credit that students have to pass to get B.Ed (Arabic Degree)
At the end of third semester a workshop is conducted which includes fourteen days’ teaching sessions and six weeks teaching practice.
Final lessons of the students are also evaluated by a team of evaluators.
What is the qualification requirement for B.Ed Arts program?
BA with 60% (Male) BA with 45% (Female) and B Sc Male/Female = 45% marks.
Only for Fana/Fata/AJK/Baluchistan with Domicile are eligible B.A with 45%.

When does the university issues date sheet for B.Ed program?
AIOU announces date sheet for B.Ed Annual Examinations in the month of September and issues roll number slips about two weeks before the exams.
What if I do not receive roll number slip?
If any student does not receive roll number slip 10 days before the commencement of examinations, he/she can contact Deputy Controller Examination (Results) Block 3, Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad Telephone No. 051 9250015 & Incharge, Complaints & Information Cell Phone No. 051 9250014 or concerned Regional Office for obtaining duplicate Roll No. Slip. The roll number slip can also be downloaded from the AIOU website www.aiou.edu.pk.
When does the university conduct exams for B.Ed candidates?
At the end of each semester the University conducts a final three hours, written examination in each course on the set dates.
Can I change my examination center?
AIOU does not consider the request for change of Examination Centre except in exceptional circumstances in which the student has genuine reasons for this change. He/she can apply at least 45 days before the commencement of examinations.
When does university declare B.Ed exam’s result?
The university declares the results of examinations within three months of completion of examinations and dispatched at his/her postal address by ordinary mail. Results can be downloaded from AIOU website.
What is weightage of assignments and final examination?
The university assigns marks according to the efforts made by the students. Weightage of assignments & final examination is considered as 30% and 70% respectively.
