There are three types of scholarships announced by China Scholarship Council

Chinese Government Scholarship Type A

Through this scholarship type students can apply directly to the China embassy for CSC scholarship, and students can apply to maximum two universities through this category.

Through this type, applicants can apply through Chinese universities for CCS Scholarships. Though they can apply to 3 universities by this CSC Scholarship category/ type.

CSC Scholarship Universities

International students can get CSC scholarships from a number of Chinese universities, which present fantastic chances for academic progress. Confucius Institute Scholarship: 

This scholarship is offered by the Confucius Institute, which promotes Chinese language and culture worldwide. It supports students, scholars, and Chinese language teachers in pursuing degrees in China. The scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, living expenses, and medical insurance.

Provincial Government Scholarships: 

Some provinces in China offer their own scholarships to attract international students. These scholarships may cover tuition, accommodation, and provide a monthly stipend. Examples include the Jiangsu Jasmine Scholarship and the Shanghai Government Scholarship.

Benefits of the USTC Fellowship 2025

The USTC fellowships have two levels for undergraduate and Master’s program, Level A and Level B, each offering different benefits and financial support. And USTC Fellowship for doctoral programs has three levels A, B and C level.  

 A and B Level subsidy is funded by the Ministry of Education (Chinese Government Scholarship) or USTC, that includes tuition waiver, Comprehensive Medical Insurance, monthly stipend and accommodation.

C level Subsidy includes Teaching assistant or Research assistance (For Doctorate level program). 

Scholarship recipients will not have to pay tuition fees, which will significantly lessen the financial burden of their academic endeavors.

The scholarship consists of both a full scholarship and a partial scholarship. The full scholarship provides tuition waiver, application fee waiver, monthly stipend, basic accommodation and medical insurance; while the partial scholarship covers some items of the Full. The full scholarship is majorly sponsoring Master’s and doctoral candidates.

PhD students would be exempted from a tuition fee of RMB 40,000/year.

Masterstudents would be exempted from a tuition fee of RMB 30,000/year.

USTC Fellowships for International Students in China 2024.

The eligibility criteria for USTC Fellowships for International Students in China 2024 is 

• Non-citizens of China with a current passport who are in excellent physical and mental condition
• After passing the new HSK Level 5 or above, candidates may request an exemption from the HSK test if they can show that they attended a high school where Chinese is the language of instruction or if they are native speakers of the language.
• Before April 30, 2020, immigrants from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, and the Chinese mainland who are applying as international students must get their existing foreign citizenship. Furthermore, the candidate must remain overseas for a minimum of two years between April 30, 2020, and April 30, 2024 (a year of residency abroad that exceeds nine months may be counted as one).
• By July 2024, candidates must possess a high school diploma, which is comparable to a Chinese high school diploma.

Shu Ren Scholarship for Undergraduate Students.

The eligibility criteria for the Shu Ren Scholarship for Undergraduate Students 2023 is

• Applicants of the Shu Ren Scholarship for Undergraduate Students 2023 must have an offer letter for an undergraduate program at Duke Kunshan University to avail of this scholarship.
• Students applying for the Shu Ren Scholarship for Undergraduate Students 2022 can be both domestic and International Students.
• Candidates applying for the Shu Ren Scholarship for Undergraduate Students 2022 must surpass the admission requirements set by the university.
• Every applicant for the undergraduate program will be taken into consideration.

ANSO Scholarship Requirements and Criteria

• Applicant must not hold Chinese citizenship
• Should be proficient in English or Chinese
• For Master Applicants: You should be born after 1st January 1994 (inclusive)
• For PhD Applicants: You should be born after 1st January 1989 (inclusive)
• Applicants should also meet the requirements set by the USTC and UCAS University.
• If you are taking any other scholarship at a Chinese University, then you are not eligible.

Shanghai Government Scholarship 2024.

Eligibility

• The applicants for the Shanghai Government Scholarship should be international applicants (other than China).
• Candidates should be in good health.
• Applicants should be an enrolled degree student in Chinese universities at the time of application.
• Candidates applying for undergraduate programs should be high school graduates under the age of 25.
• Candidates applying for doctoral programs should be master’s degree holders under the age of 40.
• Candidates applying for master’s programs should be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35.

Cardiff University and China Scholarship Council PhD Research Scholarships 2024

Eligibility:

• Applicant should be graduated from a foreign language major (including) with a bachelor’s degree or above (the professional language should be consistent with the language used in the destination country).
• Applicanst must participate in the "National Foreign Language Proficiency Test" (WSK) and meet the passing standards.
• Applicant should be participated in relevant language training at the study abroad training department designated by the Ministry of Education and obtained a certificate of completion (English is an advanced class, and other languages ​​are intermediate classes).

The University of Saint Joseph is a Catholic university that was formed in 1996 as the Macau Inter-University Institute.
