What is NAT
The National Aptitude Test (NAT) is a generalized test conducted by the National Testing Service, Pakistan. The test is for admission purposes to NAT universities. Candidates are required to appear for a single test which is applicable to all the NTS-associated universities. Moreover, candidates are informed that the NAT test results are valid only for one year, after which candidates are required to appear for the test again as per their requirements.
Types of National Aptitude Test
The National Aptitude test is further divided into two categories, as mentioned below.
- Category I : The National Aptitude Test category – I is for candidates with 12 years of education.
- Category II : The National Aptitude Test category – II is for candidates with 14 years of education.
Purpose of NAT Test
The National Aptitude Test is for a student looking forward to admission to NAT universities. The sole purpose of the test is to facilitate students to acquire admission keeping intact the standard and merit for academic purposes. NAT test helps to evaluate the generalized knowledge of students.
Difference between NAT-I and NAT-II
The NTS NAT has further categories as NAT type – I and NAT type – II. The difference between the two categories is that candidates with 12 years of education can appear for NAT – I, whereas candidates with 14 years of education appear for NAT–II. The categories are further divided into six and five types, respectively, as shown in the table below.
