Punjab Vocational Training Council:

Punjab Vocational and Training Council PVTC is a governmental organization which was established in 1988. It is an initiative by Government of Punjab to promote vocational and technical education in the province and establish colleges that can aid in its progress. The PVTC is taking financial aid from various NGO’s such as GIZ, PSDF, UNICEF, and JICA, British council to help and rehabilitate poor youth for a bright future. It has a special quota for Mustahaqeen–e–Zakat. PVTC was established with a vision of empowering youth with economical stability.

By June 2024, PVTC has graduated 480,000 trainees. The Government of Punjab has established almost 282 vocational training institutes (VTIs) in vacant governmental buildings. The factor of gender disparity has also been kept in view; there is ratio of 50% of female and male students in PVTC institutes. Vocational institutes are being built in marginalized areas of North Waziristan and others. Apart from education, PVTC is also offering career counseling to students to help them interoperate scope of courses in terms of salary and progress. There are 15 Career Guidance & Job Placement Centers in various cities of Punjab. The organizations has progressed leaps and bounds over the years, it has collaborative with several foreign vocational and training institutes. The trainees from PVTC are preferred by employers for jobs.
