As a federal enterprise, the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH supports the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development.' The project SAR has the objective to improve the prerequisites for climate change adaptation and climate risk management in certain areas of Pakistan. The development of climate risk assessments will set the ground for new planning and financing instruments dealing with climate risk management at provincial level, with a focus on the most vulnerable communities.

Advisor Planning and Financing Adaption & Resilience

(Reference No. SAR 2021/001) Duty Station: Islamabad

Qualifications and Experience:

  • University degree (Masters' or Bachelors' degree) in environmental studies, political science, climate change. policy management, public finance, public administration or related fields from a recognized institution
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in a comparable position in the development sector and/ or research related position and/ or international or national non-Governmental Organisation
  • Long-lasting experience in the public sector in Pakistan related to public planning, budgeting and development of investment projects at the national and/or provincial levels. including     of    provincial    governance    structures and coordination between federal and provincial governments. Experience with climate change related question beneficial but not a must
  • Experience in the agriculture sector or in other sectors related to climate change adaptation in Pakistan
  • Experience in implementing projects for local communities in Pakistan
