International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a test that measures the language ability of people who wish to study or work in the environments where English is used as a main language of communication.
An easy-to-use scale of 9 band visibly identifies the proficiency level, from non-user (band score 1) through to skilled (band score 9).
Basically IELTS is available in two formats of test, these formats are:
o Academic
o General Training
These two tests format provides a valid as well as perfect assessment of the four language abilities: these abilities involve listening, reading, writing and speaking.
There are three bodies that are responsible for conducting IELTS test in Pakistan: British Council, IDP and AEO.
AEO is a liaison office of top Australian universities. It provides help to the students who have a desire to study in Australia and facilitate the procedure. AEO also conducts IELTS test two times in a month in major cities of Pakistan including Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.
On the other hand, British Council is a British organization specializing in international cultural and educational prospects. British council is currently working in more than 100 states: promoting a massive knowledge of UK and the English language; encouraging cultural, scientific, technological as well as educational co-operation along with the UK; and changing the lives of people via access to UK education, skills, qualifications, culture and society.
