Karachi, The test for the posts of high school teachers would be conducted on December 23, Sindh Education Department announced on Thursday.
A spokesman for the education department said that tests for the posts of junior school teachers would be held on Dec 29 and 30. It was further pointed out that the NTS had given 6th to 9th January as tentative date for the test of Primary School teachers.
Tests for the recruitment of teachers would be conducted at tehsil and district level, the spokesman added.
Public Service Commission has announced the scheduled of ability tests for the post of officers in various government departments.
According to an official announcement of the commission, the ability test for the post of Social Medical Officer in Khalifa Gul Nawaz Teaching Hospital would be held on December 17 while the ability test for the post of Administrator in Sports, Tourism, Culture, Archaeology and Museums Dept would take place on December 18.
Similarly, tests for Assistant Controller Weight and Measures in Industries, Commerce, Mineral Development, Labour and Technical Education dept were scheduled on December 20, for five male Sub-Divisional, Forest Officers in Environment Dept and for 11 male Sub-Divisional, Forest Officers in the Office of Chief Conservator of Forests, Environment Dept on December 21, for three Veterinary Officers/Surgeon in Office of Chief Conservator of Wildlife in Environment Dept on December 24 and for one Deputy Superintendent Jail in Prison Dept in Home and Tribal Affairs Dept on December 26.
The Sindh government has decided to set up its own Higher Education Commission (HEC) as the province was empowered to do so following the 18th amendment, and its draft bill was approved to be presented before the Sindh Assembly for legislation.
These decisions were taken in a meeting presided over by Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah at the CM House.
The meeting was informed that after the passing of the 18th amendment, education had become a devolved subject, and Sindh had been assigned with the tasks of curriculum development, higher education/HEC, Dawood College of Engineering & Technology, and Sindh Madrasatul Islam College.
The meeting discussed several issues and then consistently approved constituting the Sindh HEC, of which the CM would be the controlling authority. The meeting was told that the HEC had granted 8,000 to 10,000 scholarships in the country, whereas only 800 scholarships were provided to students from Sindh. The participants of the meeting were informed that the Supreme Court of Pakistan had also directed the provinces to enact their own laws.
