Islamabad: The teachers of Pakistan’s capital, dissatisfied with the response of the government to their demands for promotions as well as for upgradation, have announced that they will extend their strike from today.
The aspirants, as has been in the case of the strike of daily wage and regular teachers, will be suffering the most in this most recent boycott.

In a press release issued on Sunday, Professor Rasheed Khan of the joint action committee of regular teachers in Islamabad said that other staff from education institutes will be joining the strike.
“All officials like vice principals, exam controllers, DDOs, proctors, transport in charges, as well as sports in charges are going to not just boycott their duties, they are also boycotting their offices,” the press release added.

“No one will sit in their office as well as they will not perform their duties. All the officials will sit in staff rooms along with their colleagues,” the statement added.

Khan furthermore said that the JAC had held multiple, individual meetings along with the additional secretary of the Capital Administration Development Division minister, adviser to the prime minister, and the Federal Directorate of Education director general.
“In spite of the assurances from the authorities, the meetings have not produced any result.”
Khan also blamed officials as well as the media of misguiding and confusing the public in this regard. He also said that the CADD Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, the CADD secretary, adviser to PM and the FDE chief are expected to hold a meeting today (Monday) to discuss the strike as well as to arrive at the solution.
