Faisalabad: University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF) and Dalhousie University, Canada introduced a joint degree programme in BS Plant Sciences on Tuesday.

The newly launched degree programme ceremony was presided over by Vice-Chancellor of UAF Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan whereas Dr Qamar Zaman and Dr G Christopher Cutler from the Dalhousie University, Canada also spoke on the ceremony.
The vice chancellor said,
“The University is interacting along with the foreign varsities for research and education in credit transfer programme.”
He said that the aspirants of BS (Hons) Agriculture Sciences can grab an opportunity to study in the Dalhousie University for the final two years after meeting the criteria of 3 CGPA as well as other requirements.

He furthermore added that the student exchange programmes were also being strengthened to get the benefit from the experiences of each other.
On the ceremony, Dr Qamar Zaman said that this cooperation will strengthen other disciplines as well. He said that the aspirants would also be able to work for the prescribed hours during a week.

In the meantime, Dr G Christopher Cutler said,
“Canada has world ranking varsities offering quality education and producing trained manpower.”
He also said that the Dalhousie University was among top 300 universities in the world.
