The Sindh Madressat-ul-Islam University (SMIU) and the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) yesterday signed a Memorandum of understanding (MoU), as per which the bank would provide Rs2.88 million for the 4 successive years as the scholarship fee for 20 admirable aspirants of Sindh Madressat-ul-Islam.
This agreement was signed by the Vice chancellor of the university, Dr Muhammad Ali Shaikh, and the executive vice president as well as the divisional head (communal social responsibility department) of National Bank of Pakistan, Ovais Asad Khan.
During his address on the ceremony, Dr Shaikh valued the role of National Bank of Pakistan for the reason of education and also said that the national as well as the multi-national organizations present in the state should also help the aspirants coming from humble socio- economic background with the help of their corporate sector responsibility programme.
