During her speech, she also said that 50,000 new jobs would be created in the police, health and education sector in upcoming year.
The government school teachers have shown concern over the announced education budget and also criticize the government for not giving sufficient percentage for their salaries.
In a statement issued in reaction to the Punjab Budget 2016-17, the president of Punjab Teachers Union Sajjad Kazmi has said that primary education is already facing shortage of classrooms and the government has announced to stipulate 10,000 classrooms for Early Childhood Education.
He furthermore said that raising just 10 percent salaries was seriously not enough for the teachers, adding that the government should have improved the medical allowance and house rent, keeping in mind the increase in price rises.
He also said that the government has not asked for sanctions from teachers, adding that if teachers would also be involved in the making of education budget, they can never help government in overwhelming grave issues faced by the area.
