PUCIT directed to return money to candidates

The authorities of Punjab University take the notice of overcharging (Rs 1200) by Punjab University of Information Technology (PUCIT) to apply for BD programme against the approved fee of Rs 100. The authorities of university have directed the administration of PUCIT to return Rs 1100 each to more than 7,000 candidates.

 On Thursday, in a letter to the Principal of PUCIT Dr Mansoor Sarwar, the PU administrator warned the principal of disciplinary action for the obvious violation of rules.

 As per the details, it was decided in the meeting of central Admission Committee of Punjab University held on 22^nd August 2015 that Rs 100 processing fee would be charged from all the applicants. All the departments of Punjab University are charging this amount from the aspirants for each admission form and charging Rs 200 for the prospectus.

Though, PUCIT is demanding Rs 1,200 demand draft from the applicants for online processing of admission forms without giving any prospectus to the applicants.
