Lahore, Punjab University Examinations Department has issued revised written date sheets for the First Year MSc I.T 2nd annual examination 2011 & 1st annual examination 2012 and Second Year MSc I.T 2nd annual examination 2011 and 1st annual examination 2012.
Meanwhile, Punjab University Department of Examinations has notified that the candidates of BS 4 year program 2nd semester examination 2012 and 4th semester examination 2012 appearing the paper of Introduction to Sociology (SOC-22108) will take their written examination of the said paper on 17-12-2012 instead of 10-12-2012.
Punjab University Department of Urdu Chairman Prof Dr Fakhrul Haq Noori, Associate Prof Dr Muhammad Kamran and Associate Prof Dr Zia ul Hasan has participated in international moot on “Adab aur Baqai-e-Bahmi” organized by Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur, Sindh’s Urdu Department . The professors presented papers on the topic and Dr Noori presided over a session of the conference. He termed the need of promotion of Urdu language and literature as need of the hour. The professors also presented poetry in an international Mushaira on the occasion.
Punjab University has awarded 04 PhD degrees to the scholars in which Ahmad Saeed S/o Gul Shahid Khan in the subject of Geography after approval of his thesis entitled “Inter-Effects of Tubewell Irrigated Agriculture and the Aquifer Potential in Balochistan: A Case Study of Pishin Valely, (1981-2008)”, Muhammad Aslam Siddiqui S/o Ali Hassan in the subject of Islamic Studies after approval of his thesis entitled “Relations and Treaties Between Muslims and Non-Muslims in the First Century (A.H.) and Contemporary World’’, Muhammad Afzal S/o Naik Muhammad in the subject of Arabic after approval of his thesis entitled “Jawahir Ul Fatawa” and Rubina Yasmeen D/o Mahar Sarang Ali Khan in the subject of Punjabi after approval of her thesis entitled “An Analysis of the Research and Criticism of Pakistan Punjabi Folklore”.
The University of the Punjab established in 1882 which is the largest and the oldest seat of higher learning in Pakistan. It was the first to be established in the sub-continent in Muslim majority area. The fact that two Nobel laureates are from this University speaks volumes for its academic and research excellence.
