LAHORE (Tuesday, December 09, 2014): Punjab University (PU) Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) faculty member Ayesha Ashfaq has completed her PhD from University Sains Malaysia (USM) and has been declared Graduate on Time (GOT), a distinction.
Dr Ayesha Ashfaq completed her PhD within two and a half years from USM and has been promoted to the post of assistant professor and has rejoined the ICS. Her PhD thesis topic was “Representation of the Image of the United States in mainstream English newspapers of Pakistan: A semiotic analysis of political cartoons (1991-2013)”.
Speaking about Ayesha’s achievement, her supervisor Professor Dr Adnan Hussein at the USM, said that she would be an asset for Punjab University. PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran, Dean Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences Dr Zakria Zakir and ICS In-Charge Director Dr Noshina Saleem have also congratulated Dr Ayesha on her achievement and for earning fame for the varsity.
