Rawalpindi: According to a press release, a female student of Sadeeqa’s Learning System (SLS) Montessori and High School has been awarded a fully paid scholarship to continue her further studies in US.
Syeda Mehreen Tahir has been awarded with a full paid scholarship by BEYOND Student Support Services, a division of Foreign Links around the Globe (FLAG) to continue her further studies at Kokomo High School in Indiana.
Mehreen has decided to get a degree in applied sciences as she wishes to become a genetic engineer.

Mehreen joined SLS School in Junior Montessori in the year 2002 and when she was in 9th standard she was selected for iEARN’s Youth Exchange and Study (YES) programme in 2013.
Mehreen is the 27th student from SLS School to have been selected for this study abroad programme. After the completion of her year abroad, Mehreen rejoined SLS and completed her Matriculation there.
Motivated by the number of hours she had to spend into volunteer work when she was in US, Mehreen decided to continue along with the same vigor back in her home country on her return.
She joined a food drive helping more than 400 families. She also gave her time at a school for needy children, and actively volunteered along with various US State Department programmes like International Jessup Moot Court Competition sponsored by OPDAT Pakistan.

Mehreen was known as an exemplary exchange student when she was in US. She was wonderful in livestock judging competitions and won the highest award in agriculture, the DEKALB award.
The managing director of SLS Schools, Asiya Talha met with Mehreen to congratulate her on this achievement and she also wish her good luck in all her future endeavors.
Mehreen will leave the country in the beginning of August for Indiana.
