Pakistan to send 25 PhD scholars abroad for training

Lahore: The government will be sending 25 PhD faculty members of the Pak-Austria Fachhochschule Institute of Applied Science and Technology, whose construction was officially geared sometime back.

The faculty, who will be flying to Austria this March, would be getting a 2-year specialized training. The training will covers high-tech region involving the software engineering, the clinical engineering, multi-media laboratory technology, energy and mechatronics engineering.

Almost 175 more teaching faculty will also be sent to Austria for the second part of this program.

The institute is being set at Mang, Haripur District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa along with the sponsorship from Austria.

The establishment of the institute will cost almost Rs 8.2 billion of which the payable funds have already been released by the government of the province.

“Soon after the inauguration of the project by Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak, construction was formally started. Site office has also been established at Mang,” Nasser Ali Khan, the Project Director, told the media sources.

The curriculum to be taught at the institute will be fixed up by Australian experts, together with the examination systems that would be followed.

The degrees in this regard will also be issued from Austria.

The project is expected to be completed within 14 months with admissions starting in October 2017.
