Taxila, Member Punjab Assembly Sher Ali Khan has distributed solar lamps among 60 female students. He further said that provincial government has set up the Rs2.5 billion Ujala program for the up gradation of education in the province.
He distributed solar energy lamps to talented students at the Govt Degree College for Women Hassanabdal and said that students are facing difficulties due to this energy crisis.
He said that more than 0.2 million solar lamps worth of Rs2.5 billion has been distributed all over the province.
Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif distributed laptops among male and female students of religious seminaries at Aiwan-i-Iqbal on Wednesday. More than 1,000 Faazil male and female students got laptops.
Guard of honour was presented to the recipients of laptops on merit. The chief minister said on this occasion that it would be helpful for students and they can get benefit by accessing up-to-date and scientific knowledge in the current scenario and can find the solution of the various issues.
He asked the ulema, experts and seminary students to play their role in saving the country and provide solutions for various issues. He further said that present time needs tolerance, forbearance and respect for each other.
The ulema and religious experts can be operative for promotion of opinions of peace, brotherhood, love and sacrifice, he said.
Higher Education Commission has started Overseas Scholarships 2013 HR Development Initiative, MS leading to PhD Program of faculty Development for universities of engineering science and technology.
Applications are invited from outstanding Pakistani nationals for the award of scholarships in the various fields for Masters leading to PhD/ PhD.
Applications must be received in the office of Project Director (HRDI UESTPs) till April 01, 2013.
