Faisalabad: In an attempt to improve the relationship in the fields of education and research, Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University China and University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Monday.
This agreement was signed by the Vice Chancellor of UAF Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan and president of FAFU Dr Lan Siren during a ceremony which was organized at the university.
According to the signed agreement, both institutes will work towards research and capacity building initiatives, student-faculty exchange programme, preparation of mutual research proposals as well as other zones of mutual concern.

On the agreement signing ceremony, You Yang Chen said these step would help in boosting the spirits of students and they would be able to learn from the experiences of each other.
He said that 160 international aspirants were studying from 44 countries in FAFU.
He moreover said that 55 Pakistani students were also registered in various disciplines in the university.
You Yang Chen affirmed that 10 PhD scholars from UAF will be admitted to FAFU for PhD programmes annually. The university has started a unique program in Bee Sciences.

At the same time, the Vice-Chancellor of UAF Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that university was housing a Confucius Institute that was among the best institutions in the country.
At least 31 UAF faculty members had studied from China, he added.
