Karachi: The Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) and Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto University of Law (SZABUL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the training of journalists in legal journalism.
As per the signed agreement, the two parties will cooperate in the fields of research and education and also in the exchange of reporters, anchors and students.

The founding Vice-Chancellor of SZABUL Qazi Khalid Ali admired the role of CPNE for the restoration of democracy.
He called the signing of the MoU a historic moment.
The varsity will hold workshops, seminars as well as certificate and diploma courses for training and the capacity building of journalists.

The General Secretary of CPNE Aijazul Haque said that the programme will boost the capacity of court reporters.
He furthermore said that such programmes will not just prove to be beneficial for journalists but also for the legal fraternity.
Aijazul Haque valued the efforts of Justice (retd) Qazi Khalid Ali and Dr Waqar Yousaf Azeemi for their untiring efforts to make the MoU a reality.
The chairperson of CPNE’s Skill Development Committee Dr Waqar Yousaf Azeemi said that this was the first time that CPNE has signed an agreement along with an educational institute.

The Vice-President of CPNE and head of its Sindh committee Amir Mehmood said that the establishment of the university was an honour for the province.
The chairperson of the Skill Development Committee of CPNE Dr Waqar Yousaf Azeemi and the Vice-Chancellor of the university Qazi Khalid signed MoU, whereas Secretary General of CPNE Aijazul Haque and Registrar of SZABUL Syed Sharf Ali signed as witnesses of MoU.
