Medical student’s ‘fatal fall’ from hostel rooftop in Lahore

Lahore: A medical student supposedly died on Thursday after he fell from the second storey of the hostel of private medical college building during Wednesday night windstorm in Hayer area.

According to police, Naqash a 20 years old first year medical student of Kamoki at Avi Sena Medical College had gone to the rooftop of the hostel building to make a phone call.

It seems that Naqash lost his balance during the windstorm while he was busy in conversation on call, said police. Suddenly he fell on the roof of hostel’s porch almost 10 feet below. As the porch had a false ceiling, it conceded in under the weight of the student who hit the floor of the building.

Police officials moreover said that the victim suffered a severe head injury and he was shifted to hospital by officials of Edhi where he died on Thursday morning.

Police shifted the body to city mortuary for the autopsy however shortly handed it over to the family of victim without the procedure.

SHO Inspector Muhammad Ishfaq said that the family of victim refused to allow the postmortem examination and took the body for funeral at his native town.
