Khairpur, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has announced that a medical teaching hospital will be made in Khairpur. The purpose of teaching hospital is to deliver better health facilities to local people.
Addressing the foundation-stone laying ceremony of Khairpur Medical College linked with Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS), he said that the PPP government is intended to provide better health facilities and quality education to the masses and for this purpose the assigned budget has been increased.
The CM said setting up of the medical college in Khairpur would provide higher medical education to youngsters, especially girls, of city. The CM said he had issued order to the health secretary to take special steps in this connection.
LUMHS Jamshoro Vice-Chancellor Prof Mashoor Alam Shah, Health Secretary Aftab Ahmed Khatri, DC Khairpur and Commissioner Sukkur Mohammad Abbas Baloch and LUMHS Jamshoro Dean of Surgery Prof Abdul Sattar Memon also addressed the ceremony.
Earlier, the CM set the foundation stone of Khairpur Medical College.
Around 5,000 planned teachers hired in Balochistan’s schools and colleges in June and July 2010, under the Aghaz-e-Haqooq Balochistan Package and they yet to receive a notification of regularization of their services.
The latest declaration was given by Religious Affairs Minister Khurshid Shah on the floor of the National Assembly on December 11 that within 15 days, the Balochistan government would issue a notification regarding the teachers’ job regularisation.
Under the package, 2,500 graduates were hired while another 2,500 post-graduates wrer welcomed as assistant lecturers and school teachers but they could not get pay according to their qualification whereas over 100,000 teachers across Pakistan have been given permanent jobs.
According to the information 40 percent of these posts have gone to women candidates i.e 700 assistant lecturers while 4,300 others were taken as high school teacher, PST, EST and teacher education in all 30 districts of Balochistan. It is necessary to solve this issue and orders should be taken to regularize their services.
