While conversing to the delegation of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU), Sri Lanka in a meeting held on Sunday Director ICCBS Prof Dr Muhammad Iqbal Chaudhry said that The International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) at University of Karachi will offer the technical support to a prominent Sri Lankan university in the development of a research centre.
KDU team was controlled by Vice Chancellor Major General Milinda Peiris and also included Director Prof. Roshan Perera as well as Chandana Wickramasinghe the Dean of Faculty of Defence and Strategic Studies Colonel
Dr Chaudhry claims that Prof Dr Atta-ur-Rahman would monitor the KDU in developing the world class research center that is names as Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) Center for Advance Research (CARE).
Milinda Peiris really valued the warm welcome by Pakistani friends at the University of Karachi and also said that the KDU required ICCBS support for the development of a top leading institute in our campus. He moreover said that Sri Lankan government had given approximately $ 20 million grant for the development of KDU CARE; he also said that they required to set up a world class research institute such as the HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry.
