Lahore: Large number of college students from all over Lahore took to the streets on Thursday to stage a protest against the BISE (Lahore board) accusing it of “unfair marking” in the Intermediate Part 1 annual exams 2016.
The huge protests forced the chief minister of Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif to take notice of this incident.
He has ordered the higher education secretary to carefully investigate the case and submit a report as early as possible.

The students staged a protest outside the Lahore Press Club, called out slogans against the BISE Lahore board and demanded that their papers be rechecked by the board and new results should be announced.
The protesters were of the view that the BISE had not checked their papers properly and expressed their doubts on the way the marking was carried out.
The protesting students demanded that their papers must be rechecked instead of simply having their marks recounted.
Numan, one of the protesting students, told the media sources that he had come out to protest against the ‘biases’ done by the board.

He furthermore said that junior paper checkers were responsible for all the mess, claiming that teachers who checked matric exams had been hired by the board to check inter level exams.
He expressed his incredulity at receiving “very low” marks, saying the marks he received made no sense to him.
He also said that the aspirants deserved to have their papers rechecked and claimed that few students had been awarded more than the total marks of the paper.

This protest was organized via social media along with the students of different colleges coordinating to gather the protesters.
The apsirants from Forman Christian College (FCC), Government College University (GCU), Punjab Group of Colleges as well as from other colleges in the city took part in the protest.
The roads round about the press club were blocked for several hours due to the protest, causing inconvenience for travelers in the area. Though the police were present at the site to prevent any unpleasant incident, the protesters remained peaceful.
