HEC to hold 15th National Inter University Debate Contest on April 24

Islamabad, To award the Allama Iqbal Shield, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) is going to conduct 15th National Inter University Debate Contest on April 24.
 
As many as 30 participants of different universities of public and private sector across the country will took part in the competition. Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Information Technology and Education and Training Dr. Sania Nishtar has been invited as a chief guest on this occasion.
 
HEC Chairperson Dr. Javaid R Laghari and Executive Director Professor Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed will express their views. From many year the HEC is conducting All Pakistan Inter-University Debate Contest and other events for the candidates of public and private universities.
 
The purpose of conducting this contest is to enhance the abilities and aptitude towards different issues like public, economic and other society issues. The first round of the contest was arranged by the respective universities in which all the departments of the universities and established colleges participated while the second round was conducted at universities of regional level at Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Federal, AJK and FATA/Gilgit-Baltistan.

The final round is being conducted by HEC Islamabad in which the teams with highest score will participate comprising of two students and one individual top scorer student which was nominated in second round in English and Urdu categories. Cash prizes will be presented to the top position holders.
 
The Allama Iqbal Shield will be presented to each winning university who will get highest score both in English and Urdu contests.

Meanwhile, The Government College University (GCU) Lahore, Ravians Quiz Society organized the Master Mind Quiz Competition 2013.

Around 133 candidates from the several departments of the university contributed in the competition. GCU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman presided over on this occasion while famous anchor Noor-ul-Hassan was invited as chief guest. Usman Mustafa from the Persian Department shine in the contest and got first place.
