Lahore, Punjab University, Hailey College of Commerce organized annual convocation on Monday and awarded degrees to students. PU HCC Principal Prof Dr Liaqat Ali, senior faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran said on this occasion that educational adversity is due to the leadership of the country and they are unaware of the importance of education in the current scenario.
He further said that educational budget had been reduced from 2 percent to around 1.5 percent of GDP. He said that the college under the leadership of Dr Liaqat Ali was delivering quality graduates.
Punjab University Department of Geography is going to arrange 14th All Pakistan Geographical Conference on March 05, 2013 at 9:00am at Centre for Undergraduate Studies Al-Raazi Hall. PU VC Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran will chair the opening session of conference. A large number of Geography experts, faculty member and students will be there. The conference will be continued till three days.
The University of the Punjab was established in 1882 which is the largest and the oldest seat of higher learning in Pakistan.
