Lahore, Various websites are spreading fake news that NTS has eliminate the Graduate Assessment Test (GAT) for MPhil and PhD admissions in all the universities of Pakistan according to Lahore High Court orders but NTS has announced it as a false and bogus news and there isn’t any court orders in this regard.

The official website of NTS has mentioned that “No change in HEC policy about MS/M.Phil/Ph.D admissions and there is no court order on the subject”. All the MPhil and PhD students can only get admission in the HEC recognized universities after passing the GAT test for MPhil and PhD admissions. So all the candidates intending to get admission in postgraduate programs in HEC recognized universities must not believe on this fake news. There isn’t any reality in exclusion of NTS GAT Test.

It was considering that only entrance test will be required to get admission and students would be qualified for MPhil and PhD programs and candidates will get a great relief by qualifying the criteria set by the respective university for admission.

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has assigned National Testing Service (NTS) the responsibility to conduct GRE (Graduate Record Examination) Type Test. There are two types of these tests. GAT-General and GAT-Subject. GAT-General (Graduate Assessment Test) for admissions in M.Phil and HEC Scholarship Schemes and GAT-Subject for PhD. Programs. The test result will remain valid for Two Years for admissions and HEC Scholarship Schemes.
