FCC students shine in All Pakistan GSC Shield Competition

Lahore, Students of Forman Christian College University took part in 3rd annual All Pakistan GSC Shield Competition held at Gomal University from 2 to 4 January 2013.

Over 20 institutional teams took part in four day tough competition and students of Forman Christian College, Muhammad Moman Khan and Hamza Mustafa contested as a team, participated in the opening round which was organized on January 03. They competent and moved on to the finals round which was held on the next day.

In the separate category Usama Hameed Tarar contributed and also moved in the finals round. In Urdu competition, Hamza Mustafa contested in the ‘Urdu Humorous’ category, while Usama Hameed Tarar took part as ‘Urdu Serious’ speaker. 

Usama got second position for his speech while Muhammad Moman Khan succeeded in the ‘English Serious’ section and stood first.

Rabia Mehboob, a student of Forman Christian College Lahore has gained the bronze medal in the National Squash Championship which was held under the 32nd National Games 2012. She is also a member of Higher Education Commission’s Squash Team and is the first athlete from FCC who has received this medal. The FCC Sports Association praised her and congratulated Rabia on her marvelous success.

Meanwhile, Forman Christian College is going to conduct its first Green Business Initiative which will be a national inter-university competition. The contests will emphasis on different ideas which will be produced by competing teams (consisting of 3-5 members). By this contest progress of green businesses can take place in Pakistan.

Teams would also point out possible solutions about the current businesses that are directing on profit maximization and are not focusing towards the environment. Today students are the leaders of tomorrow, so an understanding towards the importance of a green environment would be made.

Topics will be given to competitive teams related to green business development in Pakistan, and they will have to formulate an unplanned speech for 2 minutes. The jury will award the points according to the quality of their content.

A problem sheet will be given to competitive teams and they will have to present their solution on Power Point with a time limit of 5 to 7 minutes. The jury will again award points to each team according to the practicality of their solution.

Registration for the event will be effective from Dec 24, 2012 to Feb 8, 2013 while the event will take place on Feb 23, 2013.
