Lahore: Prime Minister’s Laptop scheme is a revolutionary step to improve the scope of research and quality education in Pakistan and increase the access of information technology.
The students who are currently studying in government sector universities / degree awarding institutes recognized by HEC are advised to get registered online and update and their profiles.

Distribution Criteria:
o Full coverage to enrolled PhD, MPhil, MS or equivalent program students in any public sector HEI
o Special quota for disable students
o 2.5% Quota for distant learners/ students of each Virtual University & Allama Iqbal Open University.
o 5% Quota for students studying Government College of Technology
o 5% Quota for students of degree and postgraduate colleges of Federal Capital and Federally Administered Tribal Areas
Eligibility Criteria:
o Students studying in government sector Universities/ Degree Awarding Institutes duly recognized by HEC.
o Students registered in PhD/ MS/ MPhil or equivalent 18 year program
o Students registered in 1 or 2-year Master’s degree program (morning and evening)
o Student registered in 4-year or 5-year Bachelor degree program (morning and evening)
o Students studying as distant learner in VU or AIOU
o Students studying in government degree or postgraduate colleges of Islamabad and FATA
o Students of degree colleges of other provinces might be covered from respective provincial arrangements (if any)
o Students' eligibility and enrolment status as mentioned above shall be determined on the day of distribution of laptops at the HEI, but if there is any unforeseen delay causing ineligibility of students, then those aspirants having their online application submitted and "Accepted for Merit" will maintain their eligibility intact.
o The criteria for the registered candidates in the distance learning program at VU and AIOU, and students of polytechnic institutes of Pakistan and AJK shall be defined in coordination along with the respective varsities / boards and will be updated accordingly.
o No laptop shall be issued to those who have availed from these steps in the past taken by the government or by the higher education institute.
