Lahore, Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif has distributed 1902 laptops among students of Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), Lahore. LCWU students cheered and chanted slogans while ceremony was held in the university auditorium. CM was given a very warm welcome by the students of Lahore College.
Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif was the chief guest to give away 1902 laptops among BS and MS students of LCWU. Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Minister Higher Education Zaeem Qadri, Deputy Speaker Rana Mashood Ahmad, Special Assistant to CM Zakia Shahnawaz, Secretary Higher Eduation Ejaz Munir, Deans and faculty members attended the event.
LCWU Vice Chancellor Dr Sabia Mansoor said that she feels great pleasure over the fact that Maryam Nawaz had been a student of Lahore College. She further said that there are seven thousands students in BS and MS programs. Among them more than 6500 students have won the laptop in two phases which shows the excellent standard of education of this only women university in the provincial capital.
The initiative taken by Chief Minister Punjab to promote the education and technology in the province are appreciable. For the development in information technology, Laptop distribution has a great value. Maryam Nawaz Sharif is old student of LCWU and she is role model and a message for our students that they should come forward to play their role in national development. It is the vision of LCWU to empower women through education.
Vice Chancellor thanked Chief Minister for donation of Laptops and highlighted that it is the first time that Chief Minister has ordered to enlist special students to get laptops.
Member National Assembly Hamza Shahbaz distributed laptops among students of University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences on Wednesday.
While speaking on the occasion he said that youth is the ray of hope and they can make Pakistan a prosper country by abolishing corruption from politics and in other fields.
He said the Punjab government had made a negative impact by abandoning aid from foreign masters. Despite of this, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had taken steps for the completion of other development projects in Punjab province.
He further said the Punjab government had taken several steps for the establishment of Endowment Fund with Rs10 billion, provided soft loan of Rs50,000, donation of 75,000 acres of land to agriculture graduates and made arrangement to send position holder students on foreign tour without any discernment.
