Children of VVIPs fail to get admission in Aitchison College

Lahore, Aitchison College in Lahore has abolished the quota system for providing admission to children of important personalities and relatives of VVIP’s. The Aitchison College is among the most significant educational institutions of Pakistan.
It was established in 1866 and since then it provides admission and several allowance to relatives of important personalities.
Recently the Board of Governors has denied the criteria of quota system for admission to relatives of government important personalities to ensure admissions on merit. Moreover the college would not upsurge its fee for the students belong to middle class backgrounds.
The Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar issues notification for these changes and said the rule and policies will remain same for all schools whether it is Sadiq Public School or Hassan Abdal College or Aitchison College.
Due to these amendments 25 children of VIP’s could not get admission on merit basis. Those rejected children were close relatives of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif as well as the grandchildren of previous Punjab governor Salmaan Taseer and Pakistan Muslim League – Quaid president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.
Now with new policies the vacancies will be publicized in newspapers and all the students could apply after fulfilling the criteria. Only those candidates would be called for interview who would fulfill the criteria and pass the admission test and they could get admission depending upon the score after the submission of two tests. Earlier the admission were granted without any test to children of important personalities and only based on resources.
