Beaconhouse School System moot on educational issues to conclude today

Kuala Lumpur, Pakistan’s first overseas educational conference organized by Beaconhouse School System was inaugurated in Kuala Lumpur. 

Over 600 delegates from 11 countries around the world participated in the event. The 2-day education conference organised by Beaconhouse brought teachers, school leaders, change agents, policy makers and government officials from across Pakistan, Malaysia, UAE, Oman, UK, USA, Singapore, Thailand, Bangladesh, Philippines and Indonesia.

The conference discussed the future of learning and schools. This conference also marks the 37th anniversary of the Beaconhouse School System.

Richard Gerver, a renowned inspirational speaker and author of ‘Creating Tomorrow’s Schools Today’, delivered the keynote address to the participants. He stressed over the educationist, need to focus on what really matters - our children, their potential and the challenges they face in an increasingly changing world.

Mr. Gerver further sad that by focusing on the development of these skills and ensure that every one of our children has the opportunity to discover and develop their unique potential. 

This speech followed a panel discussion featuring world-renowned educationists, namely Alma Harris, Diana Laufenberg, Pamela Mundy and Richard Gerver, moderated by Kasim Kasuri, the CEO of Beaconhouse.  The theme of the conference ‘Empowering Lifelong Learners’ is important at this time because the Malaysian government has recognised the significance of lifelong learning in meeting the challenges of a knowledge and skills-based economy.

The final proceeding of the day was a complete session facilitated by Dr Alma Harris, director at the Institute of Educational Leadership, at the University of Malaysia. The conference will conclude on Wednesday (today).
