Islamabad: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will provide academic support to the aspirants of Wafaq-ul-Madaris for recognition of their B.A and M.A level degrees.
The aspirants will be able to register themselves with AIOU for the study of compulsory subjects at graduate level, this was decided at a meeting organized under the chairmanship of Minister of State for Education Muhammad Balighur Rehman.
This meeting was attended by representatives of Wafaq-ul-Mada.ris and Higher Education Commission. It was agreed in a meeting that that every possible support including books and tutorial workshops will be provided by AIOU to the registered candidates.
Vice Chancellor of AIOU Prof. Dr. Shahid Siddiqui assured the students of seminaries that they will be facilitated in the admission as well as in the examination procedure. He furthermore said that AIOUwill completely support the initiative being carried out by the government for Madaris reforms so as to bring them into mainstream.

The University will arrange the academic courses that will assist the aspirants to qualify compulsory / elective subjects of Bachelor level. Furthermore, the university will adopt the reliable mechanism for conducting exams for the aspirants of Madrasas.
The fee structure for the aspirants of Madaris will be normal according to the policy of AIOU. Moreover the needy students will also be provided financial aid in the form of scholarships whereas the admissions in the university will be offered twice in a year.
Vasity’s VC moreover said that they had been in cooperation along with HEC for the last six months for the role of AIOU in arranging better educational facilities to the students of Madrassas in order to bring their academic degrees at par along with the normal educational institutions. He hoped that thousands of students of Wafaq-ul-Madaris will take benefit of these arrangements.

The AIOU will start its new admission from August 1st, and these students will be completely facilitated to take the admission in the appropriate programs, he added.
